QA Tester

Location: Sandton Gauteng  |  Work Model: Hybrid  |  Contract: 12 Months Renewable Contract

Job Description:

As a QA Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. You will be responsible for designing and executing test cases, identifying and documenting defects, and working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and execute test cases and test scenarios based on software requirements.
  • Perform functional, regression, and integration testing to ensure the quality and reliability of software products.
  • Identify, document, and prioritize defects using issue tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
  • Collaborate with development teams to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
  • Participate in requirements and design reviews to provide input on testability and quality.
  • Create and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
  • Conduct performance and scalability testing as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in software testing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • ISTQB or other relevant certifications.
  • 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance and testing.
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and practices.
  • Experience with test automation tools/frameworks such as Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, etc.
  • Proficiency in writing SQL queries for database testing.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
